In Game Day, our Kids get an hour of their favorite backyard games…with a twist.
We swap out all of the “sitting out because you got tagged” for a movement that keeps them active and secretly teaches them how to move better: box jumps, upside down wall walks, pull-ups, push-ups, squats, etc. These foundational movements are setting them up to understand how to move their bodies in sport, when they learn to lift weights, and prevent them from getting injured over time. And, we believe this is the time in their lives when they develop an understanding of whether an active lifestyle is either something they “have to” do…or, something they “get to” do.
Our Kids also get a daily talk highlighting one of our 5 Factors of Health: Eat, Sleep, Train, Think, and Connect. They’re learning the stuff we all wish we learned when we were their age, just never had a place to learn it from: how ultra-processed food and added sugar affects our bodies, what happens during the various stages of sleep, what VO2max is, how to handle hard things better, how a victim mindset keeps us from becoming the best version of ourselves, how to be the most “curious one in a conversation”, and why it’s so important to spend time outside in nature every day.
