I have a few loves in my life; my wife, my family, powder skiing, and CrossFit New England. One of my benchmarks for success and a happy life is to be able to blur the line between work and play, and I can say with 100% certainty that owning and coaching at CFNE has done just that.

I’m a mom of 4: Maya (22), Jonah (18), Bode (10), and Harley Love (8). Our kids have grown up in the CFNE community their entire lives and I want to share their experience with as many kids as I can.
I believe kids need to understand that health involves knowing how to eat, move, sleep, think, and connect in a way that lead them to the best version of themselves. I believe it’s never too soon to teach kids how to live with awareness, intention, and action.
And, I believe they can have a ton of fun while learning how to be humble, hungry and happy little kids that don’t whine, don’t complain, and don’t make excuses. Or, at least have the awareness that they’re doing it 😉
Originally from Danvers, I moved to North Carolina to get my degree in Exercise Science. Three years into my studies, a CrossFit gym opened down the road and I decided to ask for a months membership for Christmas. Best present ever! I fell in love with the people and the atmosphere. After completing an internship, I transitioned into a coaching role. My favorite part of being a coach is helping people have the best hour of their day.
CrossFit has completely changed my life in the most incredible ways possible. I am a former competitive gymnast of 12 years, but ever since retiring in 2011, I felt as though something was missing. After completing my first CrossFit class in May of 2014, I knew I had found something to fill that hole. Not only does each day of walking into the gym present another opportunity for improvement, it also provides a chance to accomplish things you once thought you couldn’t.
I started out at CFNE as a member! I remember being incredibly intimidated walking into my first class and leaving my first class feeling like I had found my second home. From the workout to the way people talked about health to how people treated each other. . . I knew I wanted to be a part of the CFNE Family. Over time that evolved into me being a Coach!
I’m am so grateful that my “job” is to build a community based around health and fitness!
“The most rewarding part of my day begins at 5:30 AM with Coach Alisha and the Mayhem crew! Alisha possesses every quality you would want in a great coach. She is bright, fun, enthusiastic, full of passion and energy all of which is contagious within the class. But, what I feel is her most important trait is how she connects and cares about each one of us individually and as a collective “team”.
To quote Theodore Roosevelt, ‘Nobody cares how much you know, until they know how much you care.’
Alisha listens, connects and cares tremendously about each one of us and conveys a sense of empathy to each of our individual situations. Her experience and patient approach to coaching and teaching builds confidence in our abilities to help us reach our individual goals. Alisha is a tremendous asset and addition to the CFNE team of coaches and we are lucky to have her.”

“Alisha is a terrific CrossFit coach! She has an incredible ability to remember each athlete’s strengths and weaknesses, injuries and concerns. She is very observant – she is constantly making (sometimes subtle) adjustments to each athlete’s movements that often have a big impact. She’s very motivating, encouraging and supportive, always has a smile on her face and is so dedicated to her job. Hands down, one of the best coaches I’ve ever had!”

With a background in sport and athletics that includes baseball, track and field, weightlifting, and being an IRONMAN Triathlon athlete, Jarrett brings a wealth of knowledge from a wide array of backgrounds that allows him to speak to any athlete regarding any event in our sport. He comes to the CompTrain team as a CrossFit Level 2 trainer and the former Head Coach at PUSH511 CrossFit in Baltimore, MD.
“Coach Jarrett is great at showing how to practice, train, compete and improve all aspects of CrossFit, no matter what level you’re at – elite, simply good, or like me a beginner. He also has by far the best beard of all the CFNE staff.”

I LOVE teaching yoga at CrossFit New England. When I walked through the door almost five years ago, it became a dream of mine to bring yoga to this incredible community. I think yoga is the best complement to CrossFit. CFNE has changed my life. Attending the 6:30 AM class during the week and teaching my Sunday morning yoga class fills me up with so much joy and love.
My love of fitness and yoga began in college and has been an instrumental part of my life. I have been a personal trainer for over 20 years, and I have been teaching yoga for ten years. My most important yoga contribution to date is starting the non-profit Yoga Reaches Out (YRO) 11 years ago. YRO is now a signature event for Boston Children’s Hospital where over 1,000 yogis come together for an annual Yogathon at Gillette Stadium to raise funds for the hospital. YRO has raised over two million dollars for children’s charities throughout the world.
I am in the process of writing my first book, and I have a blog called the Daily JAM. Here I share inspirational writings weaving yoga teachings and stoic philosophy into a digestible and modern dialogue that can be read in Just A Minute (JAM). I live in Wayland with my husband Geoff of 23 years and our two incredible children, Will and Emma. Our number one companion is Mocha who is the cutest Bernedoodle on earth.
