Originally from Florida, I was a collegiate tennis player and three-sport athlete in high school. I found CrossFit when I moved to Washington, DC after college and it felt like coming home—the competitive atmosphere and the supportive community were something I really missed, but I found my tribe again at CrossFit.
I left a career in Middle East politics to coach CrossFit full time. As a coach, I get to make the world a better place in more tangible ways than I ever did at the State Department—I love helping people get outside their comfort zone and showing them they’re capable of much more than they thought they were. My favorite part of coaching is the look of total wonder athletes get on their face after doing something thought was impossible and slowly bending their understanding of that word, both in and outside of the gym: “If I can do that, what else can I do?” eventually becomes, “What can’t I do?” And that’s the magic!
