Box Brief
A note from Ben Bergeron:

9/11 change so many lives. I don’t think there is anyone over the age of 30 that doesn’t remember that day, 18 years ago, with incredible clarity.

Today means so much to me. While we now live in a world with more of our friends, sons and daughters protecting us overseas, and a world with longer lines at the airport and stadiums, I believe we are better, more appreciate, more caring and supportive Americans because of that tragic day.

As Mayor Giuliani said, “The lesson of 9/11 is that America is truly exceptional. We withstood the worst attack of our history, intended by our enemies to destroy us. Instead, it drew us closer and made us more united. Our love for freedom and one another has given us a strength that surprised even ourselves.”

Prior to the attacks, I was working finance for State Street Bank in Boston. I was NOT happy, I wasn’t living a life of gratitude, or even interested in making my life better. I was just another rat on wheel.

After the attacks I vowed to do more with my life. I wanted to help others. To have and impact.
To improve lives. To make stronger relationships. To put first things first.

The fall of 2001, I jumped off the corporate ladder and moved to Wyoming. It was there, with the clarity and space I needed, that I decided to become coach.

That decision is why I now have the life I have dreamed of. Because of 9/11, I have a thriving community of humble, hungry, happy athletes that care for each other like family, and are grateful for everyday.

Because of 9/11, I met my wife, who I love more every day.

And because of 9/11 I have 4 kids that I are my greatest pride and joy.

So, while they tried to take away my freedom and joy… They actually created it.

I will always remember.

Love every one of you guys. Always remember.
