Box Brief

How many middle names do you have and what’s your full name?

Allan: I have one middle name and its John. I’ve dodged the nickname “A.J.” my whole life, an accomplishment I’m very proud of. My full name is Allan Araujo.

Bud: My full name is Samuel Malcolm Bud Henry. I always thought I had two middle names, but then Dan pointed out that with four names there’s actually no name in the middle, so now I’m not sure.

Favorite breakfast cereal growing up?

Allan: Tough… but Lucky Charms. It’s seriously cereal with pieces of candy in it. Tough to go wrong there.

Bud: Fruity pebbles! I used to crush up a strawberry pop tart and mix it in with the milk.

You just won free plane tickets! Where do you go and why?

Allan: Not a glamorous place but, Manchester, in England. I’m a die-hard Manchester United fan. I’d love to catch Manchester United play a match.

Bud: Italy! Beautiful scenery, tons of history, and amazing food.

What class to you usually take at CFNE?

Allan: 11:30. Everyone in that class is ridiculously fit. It’s awesome because there’s always someone to try and beat. Its a really great competition.

Bud: Sheriff Tori’s 4:30.

What’s your favorite workout of all time?

Allan: The workout for 18.2. Had a lot of fun with that one. And the first part of that workout (the dumbbell front squats and burpees ) make for a great hotel/travel workout.

Bud: “Heartbreak Kid” is a great workout. I love shorter WODs, and it’s an amazing test of both strength and skill under fatigue. It’ll also always be close to my heart because it’s the first workout I got to coach at CFNE.

Where did you go to school and what did you study?

Allan: UMass Amherst and I studied Computer Science.

Bud: I studied economics at Tufts University. Go Jumbos!

What was the last PR that you hit? What do you want the next one to be?

Allan: 245 Clean and Jerk was my last PR. I’d Love to hit anything over 185 on a Snatch sometime soon.

Bud: I hit a 285 bench press last week, which I was really pleased with. Next up I’d either like to make a 405 back squat, or row a sub-7 minute 2k.

What are 3 songs that you enjoy listening to while you drive?

Allan: Currently? I’m a BIG rap guy, and I’ve really only been listening to Travis Scott’s recent album. In that album, the top 3 songs I play in the car are called Stargazing, Yosemite, and Can’t Say.

Bud: Take Me Home, Country Roads – John Denver. Summer of ’69 – Bryan Adams. Sabotage – The Beastie Boys.

Who is the one historical figure that you’d like to meet.

Allan: Muhammad Ali. He was so much more than a boxer. His persona was that of a really confident guy, but outside of the ring, I think he was a super humble individual. Would love to have picked his brain on so many things.

Bud: Jesus would be my first answer, although I’m not sure he counts as a historical figure. I’d also love to meet Vince Lombardi.

What’s your favorite color?

Allan: Red, because of Manchester United (see question #3).

Bud: Orange! I’m thinking about starting a movement to make Saturdays/Sundays at CFNE “Orange you glad it’s the weekend” days.
