1. How did you get started with CrossFit?

Julie Hayes introduced me to crossfit back in Aug 2008. I actually did not start until Nov or Dec 2008. I am a lifer. True story… I started crossfit at the Carol school in Dover. I remember trying to muster up the nerve to go. After waking up every morning for a week to go to the early morning class I finally decided I was actually going to go. I walked around the building trying to find my way in I saw a window that looked down into a basement. They were warming up…or it appeared to be. They had barbells out. I got nervous and backed out from going in. There is no way I could go into class late….as a new student. Argggg!!! I missed class again. Home I went without even breaking a sweat. Next morning….it happened again. I was late and I just sat from above like the a peeping tom just peering into the window eating a bag of chip (just kidding about the chips…there were no chips involved…I swear no chips) So finally, one day I showed up early and I meet Susan Signer and Lori Baldwin in the parking lot. Shit people saw me, now I have to go…. My first wod was death by clean and jerks (picked the right day)….by far the best first out that could be programmed for me. I was sold went home and signed up for an unlimited package. The next day I was screwed it was something like running laps, box jumps and burpees….WTF did I just sign up for…..Something that changed my life forever. And I love it.

2. What is your favorite movement?

Have a couple. I love the squat snatch and muscle up and KBs.

3. What is your least favorite movement?

Uggg….I am not great at metcon wod. I am getting better. But overall, I am not the biggest fan of running or DU.

4. Favorite Paleo snack?

So actually I am not Paleo. I zone and I am pretty good with that. So my snack is not Paleo. I love greek yogurt (Fage` 0% 144g) 2cups strawberries or 1/2c pomegranate seeds and 2tbsp of unsweetened coconut flakes. 2block snack

5. Favorite cheat meal?

Hello my name is Katrina and I am a recovering carb/sugar junkie. OMG…I love cheat meals: here are a few….Framingham Bakery pizza….B&J candy bar ice cream and seven layer bar with jimmies, Cheesecake, cannolis, chocolate…anything chocolate. Huge fan of mac and cheese. Hello my name is Katrina and I am a carb and sugar junkie…oh did I already say that….

6. If you could be any Disney Princess who would you be and why?

Not really into Disney princess thing….but I totally wanted to be the Princess of Power……Shera…

7. If you were a professional wrestler what would your name be?

Okay so where do I begin here. I don’t know. One night after I got this questioneer, I could not sleep. So I googled female wrestler names. So what….I needed help. Well did you know there is a site that will generate your female wrestler name for you…thank god! Ready for this…..my female wrestler name is…………………………..Ebony Priestess….

8. If you could have any super power what would it be?

The ability to make anything shiny. I love shiny objects, so why not. I just made that super power up I don’t think that really exists. .

9. Favorite tea from Teavanna?

Thanks to Kate Schuh I discovered Teavanna….have you tried this….You must. I am so hooked on teas right now…..it is kind of crazy. My favorite I think is CocoCaramel Sea Salt. Great for a recovering carb/sugar junkie. Seriously helps with my cravings in the evening.

10. Chocolate or vanilla?

……………….Um Chocolate…………………without a doubt……………….

    Would have loved to have gotten to 130 but not sure where I would have made up time in there. 185s were a battle and I finished those, so pleased with that.

    I’ve never done 185 so felt it was safer not to try, but instead to keep on my current track of improvement. Thank you Shana for judging!

    14.3: 78 rx (tie break was somewhere in the 4 minute mark)
    Surprised myself with the deadlifts, in my pattern of going light (and not having done heavy deadlifts in a long time), I had never actually done 155# DL.
    Then tonight I managed to get through all 20 of the DL at 155#! Was pretty excited to PR…times 20.
