About the Heroes

On August 6th, 2011, 31 of America’s bravest warriors gave their lives in defense of our freedom. These men were sons, brothers, husbands, fathers, and friends. Not only do we thank them for their service and sacrifice, but we thank those that love them for the sacrifice they have made as well.

The 31 Americans were not the only ones that died as heroes that day. We cannot forget the sacrifice of our Afghan comrades. Seven Afghan commandos and one Afghan interpreter were also killed in action and we cannot look past their sacrifice. They too are heroes and we thank them and honor them and their families.

    Eddie did Thrusters 135#/I did 115#
    Rounds 3/4 rope climbs got modified to half way up and then pull ups from the floor.

    Great 0700 WOD this morning Max. You have this unique capability of providing sound coaching on mechanics, encouragement while folks are grinding it out, certainly levity, but also a genuine reverence to the heroes honored.

    lots of one armed modifications but glad to have him back with me at CFNE for our Saturday morning dates! No running for me..walked with plate, some ropes, pull ups, half ropes, 65# thruster, step ups!

    Donated online but didn’t register..hope that doesn’t throw things off.

    Go to the 10 AM they said. Everyone will be there they said. They must have forgotten to set their alarm, or got home so late that their other halves woke their drunk asses up at 7 am.

    Somehow we managed to get to a pace where I did all the thrusters and box jumps and Dave did all the rope climbs. May need some help explaining to my wife why I have hickeys on my neck and back (insert Andrew Ho joke here…better yet, insert Andrew Ho actual story from last night here).

    And speaking of said Ho’ster….saw his truck in the lot…I guess he was crushing some squats in the back room.

      Mike – wish i could have been more helpful on the thrusters after the first rd. On the bright side though I think 25 rope climbs in one wod is a PR for me. And not a single box jump. Amazing.

      Great workout this morning and awesome to pair up with Big Mike as always.

    AK had 75# on the bar, I had 105#. We both did seated rope pull ups (or whatever they’re called. The rest was Rx.

    Oof. That was an adventure after last night. I’m glad I did it though.

    Like Big Mike, I was wondering where everyone was this morning ….

  11. So proud of our highschool class today. They all participated (and crushed) a scaled version of “31 Heroes”. There version was:

    Amrap 31
    Teams of 2
    8 thrusters (95/65)
    3 rope climbs or 6 seated pulls
    11 box jumps (30/24)
    400m run (45/35/25/15) we let them pick the weight

    Last year this time we had a handful of athletes, today we easily had 20 athletes honoring the fallen. Thank you to all the parents who have signed your sons and daughters up for our program and the biggest thank you goes out to our athletes who continue to show up and give it their all everyday.

    I had 30 seconds of rest for each round

  13. You actually make it seem so easy with your presentation
    but I find this topic to be really something which I think
    I would never understand. It seems too complicated and very broad for me.
    I am looking forward for your next post, I will try
    to get the hang of it!
