I think we all know what The OC is doing… And if you’re gonna do it mid WOD, at least don’t make it so obvious with the leg lift.

Thought you said Auburn raised em classy?

  2. The OC………is breaking O2! Look at the poor guy behind her!

  3. Patti Jeanne

is the wod named for our very own Master’s champ Jerry?

  4. Colleen (OC)

Listen, when nature calls… you don’t always have time to run to the back of the gym.

Daigle would be proud of this on so many levels.

I can’t believe this is the WOD. I’m screwed. Ran into Eugene at Whole Foods who was buying about 8 lbs of cauliflower. I panicked and dropped the brownie in my hand on the ground right by his feet. When Eugene tried to question me about it, I changed the subject to the best cauliflower preparation method which he was happy to share. I asked his kids (who are pretty cute btw) if they ate Eugene’s cauliflower. One said, “I do.” The other rolled his eyes and said, “Dad, can I have a brownie?”
Eugene has predicted I am going to suck tomorrow.

    • Laura c

But you will smile the whole time. Eat lots of cauliflower and maybe the gas will propel you forward?

    • Braatz

Hahaha. Your brownie’s got nothin on my 2 vodka tonics. And we’re not even halfway through the second period. See you in hell, Eugene.

Oh, and OC is…. not impressed.

      • Colleen (OC)

I am, however, impressed with your vodka tonics. I stopped at one bourbon tonight… when I saw it was Jerry. We can puke in the trees together!

      • Dave C.

Braatz – can you shoot me a note when you have a minute? (dave.crabbe@gmail.com)

    • Sara C

I just ate two “mini” ice cream cones AND some addiyionsl coconut ice cream while watching “Pregnant and Dating.” I beat you all.

    • Krystle

The moral of the story: never buy your brownies at Whole Foods, but if you’re willing to take the risk best to bury them in your cart with sweet potatoes and nitrate free bacon.

      • Sara C

Today at the nooner, Heather Vitti told me I had something on my shorts…and I was like um, yep, LUNA BAR, people! I have GRAIN on my shorts!

    • LOL!!

    • Eugene

Hahahahaha. The look on Sarah’s face when that brownie fell to the ground and she tried to put it in her pocket without me noticing was priceless. Guilty. Hope you did well today…would have definitely shaved 10 minutes off your time with cauliflower. Which btw, is delicious when roasted.

    Is OC throwing a tantrum?

    • Clearly. That’s an “I kicked the bar and the bar won” face if I’ve ever seen one.

  7. Krystle

I think I’d rather run the 5k again.

    • I thought this as well…but this was surprisingly fun (after the fact of course).

  8. Braxton

I cannot wait for this! :O

  9. Krystle

The OC: “Yeah, I grunt when I get my swole on at the gym”

  10. Laura c

My daughter and husband just played Rock/paper/scissors… I tried to explain the evolution warm up but they both thought I was crazy… Yup.

  11. 27:10 Rx Not burning up the charts or anything but I finished under 30mins which was the goal. Certainly room to improve.

    I get to do this.

  12. Dave C.

    Jerry: 22:05

  13. Big Mike

    Jerry: 22:39
    First mile: 7:15
    Row: 7:45
    Second mile: 7:16
Thankful for the herd of rabbits to chase….hated getting lapped by Bob though.

  14. Colleen (OC)

6 years ago today I gave birth to my beautiful baby girl Natalie.

That was not as painful as this WOD.

Jerry: 28:36, Rx. I PR’d my mile time at 8:23 on the first mile (I swear I wasn’t going all out, I was just trying to keep up!) I was STILL last to the rowers! 9:56 on the rower, just horrid. Not sure about my last mile. But pretty stoked about that first mile! It was only a 4 second PR, but I’ve been stuck at or slower than 8:27 for a LONG time.

    • Ha! (“not as painful . . “)

    • sarahw

Way to push through the pain of mile deuce.

    • Colleen (OC)

All I could think of the entire time was “How on earth can Sarah still have the ability to speak and shout out “Good job” when I can’t even breathe!???”

      • sarahw

Still riding the sugar high I think. OC, that is so cool you PR’ed your mile.

    • Susan Stein

Your childbirth experience must’ve been very different than mine.

Great job on your mile! and Happy birthday Natalie!

      • Colleen (OC)

Actually, I had a very, very easy scheduled c-section complete with a lot of morphine. It was glorious.

    • Katie C.

Man, you have a great sense of humor….kept me laughing all the way from the Crimson Tide comment to your thoughts on this WOD. You add SO much this box (and I don’t mean just gas!).

      • Megan B

But please don’t discount the gas. Valuable commodity in some places…

    • Alison

      Yay on the PR.

    • Tricia D

That’s fast!! Great job on the PR!! And happy birthday to Natalie! Beautiful day for a birthday.

  15. dennis

Jerry: 22:58 and yes, didn’t like getting lapped by Bob in the last run!

  16. Rick W.

    Jerry: 22:58

    Awesome day to be outside!

  17. Jerry: 23:36

Nice to be outside! Thanks for letting me join 8:30am crew!
Ben, thank you for the great POSE feedback. I felt a difference immediately :-D

  18. Jerry: 22:35

Great morning for a run/row combo!

  19. Jerry 21:47

  20. Jerry: 24:59Rx – felt surprisingly good considering I ran yesterday.

    Splits:

mile 1: 8:03 – really fast for me
    row: 8:35 – should’ve had a faster transition
mile 2: 8:21 – with somehow finding a big sprint to the finish

As the blindingly fast LJ said, great morning for this. Bonus was the small-group coaching session we got.

  21. sarahw

Slowwww on the rower (over 10 minutes, maybe 10:30), and overly paced on the first mile. Not sure of my time, but I think I slid in under 25 minutes. 5:30 am dudes killed it this morning. Humbling.

    • Colleen (OC)

No you finished before me and I was 9:56 according to my rower… although maybe the rower was wrong?

  22. Jerry
    25:41
Popped calf again on 2nd run so sub’d 800m on rower for the last 1/2 mile.

  23. Greg D

  24. Alison

Active rest day – hot yoga followed by 3 mile run with Matt.

  25. I really wanted to do this WOD today, but I had to do a long run in preparation for the 10K I am running on July 3. As I started running I felt so good that the 4 mile run I was planning to run turned into a 10K!!!

As I am typing this I still cannot believe what I just did, run a 10K. It is the farthest I have ever run!!!

    My time was 1:14.47!!!

A big shout out goes out to the 8:30…could not do this without you!!!

    • Susan Stein

Congrats Joe, that’s so awesome. Great job, and you’ve earned it!

    • Nice work. Way to represent the 8:30

    • Colleen (OC)

YEAH!!!! Joe D that is so awesome! Remember when we both had never run a 10K and weren’t sure that we could? Now we’ve both got that “10K” under our belt. You will kick butt on July 3rd!

      SO proud of you!!!

    • Nice job Joe!!

    • Laura c

Wasn’t too long ago that you ran 200’s when we had 400’s in the wod! BAM!

    • Alison

      Well done Joe. Awesome.

    • michelle

I can’t wait to see what you conquer next, Joe! There is no stopping you now, the sky is the limit.

    • Tricia D

      Great work, congratulations!!!

    • Yeah Joe! Way to represent the 8:30 – So proud of you!

    • Rachel E

      Woohoo!! Love that feeling.

    • Krystle

You go Joe! I have never ever run that far, I am super impressed! Teach me your ways!

  26. Annmarie

Jerry: 29:46, my row was 9:35 but I don’t know the times of each of my runs

  27. Susan Stein

    Jerry: 28:18

  28. Katie C.

Jerry 27:51 huge thanks to Susan and the whole 9:30 crew for pulling me through this one. Thought I was going to have to walk that last 400m run due to nasty cramp but Susan got my butt in gear and I kept running…thank you!! You guys rock!

  29. dennis

Our own Crossfit Master – Jerry Fireman makes the Needham Times…

  30. Jerry: 30:04 yup, not so fast, but I did it!

  31. Jerry:33 min. Super slow on rower.

  32. Dave Mc

    Jerry: 24:08

  33. Ben & Jerry: all back to back

    1 mile: 8:07
    20 minute AMRAP: 5 push-ups, 10 sit-ups, 15 squats
    18 rounds + 15 or
    95 push-ups, 190 sit-ups, 270 squats or
    555 reps
    1 mile: 8:57…legs are toast

God I can’t wait to get back.

  34. Geoff L

    Jerry – 20:33

  35. Cotter

    “Jerry”: 25:56

  36. Nicole

    Jerry – 28:17

Everything slowwwww but about a 40 second PR from January so I’ll take it. Thanks for the running tips Geoff. Helped save my arms and shoulders from getting sore.

  37. Rachel E

“Jerry” 25:16 with Brooke and the fellas. I think it’s fair to say that last mile kicked my ass! wow

  38. Steve D

    Jerry – 29:03

Sucked it up and showed up for something that is out of the comfort zone.

Lots of room for improvement! But glad I came. Geoff tips on running came in handy, first time I can remember not having tight shoulders post run.

  39. Cheryl

Jerry – 30:46 Not blazing but a 2:47 PR from Jan and the row was essentially the same.

Thanks Geoff for reminding us, as we honor a hero, that we GET to do this.

  40. Jerry – 35:18 with a couple of stops (to test my glucose level).

  41. Big Bri

    “Jerry” – 23:36. Yikes.

  42. Not Jerry – 21:12 (subbed 100 cal airdyne for the mile runs)
First time doing a 2k row (7:23). Happy that i can tolerate both airdyne and rowing.

As for OC, don’t worry, you’re not alone:
