The Big Clean Complex

6 sets of the following Complex :
High Hang Squat Clean + Hang Squat Clean + Squat Clean + Push Press
High Hang Squat Clean + Hang Squat Clean + Squat Clean + Push Jerk
High Hang Squat Clean + Hang Squat Clean + Squat Clean + Split Jerk
One set consists of all 12 reps. Try not to drop the bar during the entire set; if you must drop after the Overhead movements, it’s allowed – just be quick to get back on the bar.  Rest as needed between sets and try to increase weight after each set.
High Hang – Start with the bar at “the pockets.”
Hang – Start with the bar just above the knee.
Squat Clean – Start with the bar on the ground.

    10# off of PR, but felt good with various minor injuries (too many and too insignificant to list)

    Eugene continues to amaze me. today he went super freak freestyle during BCC.

    in the last rep of last set of squat clean with 135#, he did a lunge, and finished with a split jerk.

    Harry is a witness.

    Happy Hump Day everyone! Loved the energy this am and love weightlifting Wednesdays! :) Thanks for the hook grip coaching Harry. It helped so much. :)

    BCC: 45, 50, 50, 55, 55, 60. Last time I did this in Nov I did: 35, 40, 40, 45, 45, 50 so I’ll take these new PRs from today. :)

    I’m so happy I got to come this am! Was tired, my abs were on fire from Annie and I was thinking about sleeping in instead but I got up, got there and of course do not regret it! So thanks everyone for a great morning. :)

      You may not remember what I got, but I certainly do. Just give me your picture and leave the posting to me (although feel free to continue the commentary on my hair and rugged good looks…and my shoes).

      Worked up to 175# on the complex. Had 185# in me, but got distracted thinking about where Big Mike and Ho were today. Would have loved to throw it around with those big boys. I’m sure they’re just waiting for another rowing workout. Well, at least one of them is. Just kidding.

      Rich P, nice job today. You are one tall dude lifting all that weight up and down. It’s days like this when I was a shorter guy…you know who I’m talking about.

    Dropped the bar once during the last set when I didn’t feel “safe” lowering the bar to the front rack position but otherwise moved through fairly quickly and held on to the bar.

    This was my first time, and it kicked my ass! I dropped the bar a few times on the last 2 sets: 95, 115, 125, 135, 135, 140

    Post WOD – 5 x 10 pull ups. Just for fun.

    Solid effort outside by Pete, Neeb, and Jim. Great day to throw weights around on the CFNE deck.

    last set was a big hot mess, but it got done!
    Learning moment to share with y’all: did we wait too long to do set 6 while hemming and hawing about 120 vs. 125# and got cooled off? Or did we need the rest anyway just to get it done? My brain says the former. It would have been interesting to just rip into set six to see what would have happened. Looking forward to doing this again.

    BCC: 65 – 75 – 80 – 85 – 90 – 95 (2 of 3 sets completed, dropped bar). Last time I did this I cleaned 90#, but couldn’t get it overhead. Pretty happy to complete 90 and almost get all three of 95.
