Expected to do 65#—then dropped to 55#—realized I was not getting good form and control, so I stripped to 45 in hopes of focusing on getting all the way down into that deep squat and really punching bar up. PALEO still going strong. Finding that I am not craving sweets anymore but I miss them. 9.5#’s down. Coming off really slowly now…..as expected. Reply Sam on January 12, 2013 at 9:41 am 1 mile run after class Reply Kristin B. on January 12, 2013 at 10:09 am wow — 9.5# is great! Reply Cindy on January 12, 2013 at 11:10 am That’s incredible! Congrats. Reply lori on January 12, 2013 at 11:12 am Great Job Sam! Reply Beth T on January 12, 2013 at 12:46 pm Sam, you are leaving me in the dust lately. As for sweet cravings, clementines are good. Also, slice some apples, sprinkle with cinnamon, add a little water, simmer with lid on, and eat warm. Delish! Reply laura c on January 12, 2013 at 2:19 pm BEN introduced me to Coconut butter- dangerous but yummy! It has helped me – I melt it and put in berries – yum I crave that now! Jen W on January 12, 2013 at 2:43 pm Just try working in a building in which they baked cookies for lunch. I bet your cravings would come back something fierce. :S I stayed strongh, though, and powered through. Reply Heather O on January 12, 2013 at 9:44 am Awesome job today 7:00 am and Happy Saturday! 🙂 1 mile run pre-WOD in 9:20. Snake Bite: 10:50 (35# and black band pull-ups). Went what I thought was lighter with the weight to work on form bc these are def my goat lifts but they were still rough and tough! 🙁 Going to add working on these with the dowel to my warmups for sure! Have a great weekend everyone! 🙂 Reply Sam on January 12, 2013 at 11:39 am great job, Heather! I think this movement is a popular goat for a lot of people. I remember doing just the dowel for a while when I first started and that felt heavy!! Reply Braatz on January 12, 2013 at 10:02 am Snake Bite: 13:03 Rx Great WOD. As Max said, Fran’s ornery, rough-around-the-edges uncle. Or Max, to put it another way: Fran:Legolas :: Snake Bite:Gimli. Reply Jen W on January 12, 2013 at 4:18 pm Oooh. Nerd flag flying high. Reply Dan C. on January 12, 2013 at 10:16 am Snake Bite: 10:53 @ 115# Reply Laura c on January 12, 2013 at 10:32 am Snake bite: 10:23 45# KPU I think I chose the right weight. I was able to string a bunch together and I was able to get under the bar (I think) instead of riding it down. Form felt pretty good on most. Thanks for the upside down carry, Bob. My equilibrium is still off….:)! Reply Sam on January 12, 2013 at 11:36 am nice time, Laura! Reply Ashley R on January 12, 2013 at 12:21 pm That vision of Bob carrying you will be in my head for awhile..pretty funny Reply Ashley R on January 12, 2013 at 10:32 am Snake Bite: Ashley: 11:50 45# 21 kip pull ups/ 15 then 9 CTB Tight back from yesterday!!!! Bob: 14:20 RX Reply Sam on January 12, 2013 at 11:38 am Hey—same time exactly as me–but you did CTB in last set!!! awesome!! I need to push myself to do these but I didn’t think to maybe just do them in last set. Reply Ashley R on January 12, 2013 at 12:22 pm Ya Sam..I have a nice tear to show for those CTB too. I figured I could get 15 CTB and then 9 but probably not 21 at first so it was a good strategy..for once! laura c on January 12, 2013 at 2:20 pm That was a good idea – I should have tried it! Colleen (OC) on January 12, 2013 at 10:47 am Snake Bite: 12:39, 45# power snatch and c2b, most of which were singles! That was harder than it looked, and 45# felt heavy. I need food and rest Reply Susan S. on January 12, 2013 at 11:43 am Snakebite modified: 9:34 21-15-9 45# squat cleans/35# kbs Reply Andrew Ho on January 12, 2013 at 11:43 am Snake Bite: 15:30 @65# and mix of kips and chest 2 bar (basically the chest hit when it hit)… Bit strides today. Went light on the weight to really focus on form and for maybe the first time it felt like I was doing something close to an actual squat snatch. I always land high and I was landing at least some of the time in a nice squat. Good stuff. But more than anything I ditched the band for the FIRST TIME today and got all 45 reps with at least chin above the bar and many chest hits. Can’t string em’ but that’ll come! I keep for forgetting to put it on the baord, so for my own records Wed: 4, Th: 6, Fr: 7. Have a great weekend all. Reply Beth T on January 12, 2013 at 11:47 am Congrats on your kipping pullups!!
