Bem,
Thanks for throwing such a great event! It was a blast and your team was top notch! Looking forward to (as Daigle calls it). Fossil Convention “13! Thanks again!
Ben- first class event! Great judging and managing of the comp. I dont know where you find the energy to MC all day long. It felt so great to have a masters event as the main event not a a side show. Thanks so much.
CFNE, thanks for hosting this great event!
That was a blast! Worth the sleepless nights. Congratulations to everyone who competed! Thank you so much to Ben, the coaches and all the volunteers for giving up your Saturday (and many hours before that) so that we could have fun and feel young for a day. If nothing else, I learned to do wallballs! I think our next masters shirts should say “you actually can teach an old dog new tricks.”
love that saying Judy and I totally agree with that. I wan t that T-shirt too
Love that line!
Thanks this event, organizers, volunteers, coaches, and fellows crossfiters, I am not longer afraid of the pull up bar and WB(mainly).
The following is a breakdown of what I learned/gained in the last 2 weeks, including last Saturday.
1- I can do pull ups in a wod.
2- I can do T2B
3- 14# wall ball to the Rx target(10″)
4- Breathe while woding
5- Every rep count and ypu can always do one more(I always heard that, but this time I lived it)
6- Control my nervous and make myslef invisible to the public and focus on the task at hand.
7- Be happy but not satisfied and start attacking my goats for the next one.
I feel so fortunate to belong to such a gym as CFNE as to have participated in this past event. I have never won the lottery, but I assume the feelings are equal or at least close to that. Thanks a million everyone!
Sonia!
Wow! Well done!!! Good for you!! I too want the “….old dog…” t-shirt
I too made some serious gains:
1. Did my first un-assisted pull up 2 days prior to the Games (need a running start
2. I can do a T2B in a hang position rather than a running start from the other side of the room
3. Got hit only once in the face by the ball in attempts to get that pesky 10″ target.
It was great competing with everyone. I can’t wait until next year- You guys are all champs!
See you at the box!
Congrat on your first pull up. That is huge for us that haven’t done that before(did my first one this year). Good job! and we’re all champions since the moment we step inside that workout area
Great job, sonia! You are so strong and your work ethic rocks. You bring so much to every wod as well as sharing so much with your fellow competitors. thanks for always helping us stay motivated!!
Enjoyed myself very much. everything was great competition, judges, supporters. Everything! I cant wait to do it again.
Thank you for hosting such a great event. Great people and a lot of fun. My only regret is that I couldn’t stay for beer afterwards, but had to drive 3 hours back to CT. Looking forward to the next one.
Ben,
I want to thank you for putting on such a top notch event. I appreciate the effort you, the judges and all the volunteers put in! I had a blast.
Thank you to all the coaches and volunteers for all of your effort and energy — everything ran smoothly, and even ran a couple of minutes ahead of schedule (!!). It was a terrific experience and pushed me to make one of my 2012 goals — 14# wall balls to the 10′ target. I’m already looking forward to next year.
I think Judy captured the tagline for next year’s shirt perfectly.
It was awesome! Thanks again to everyone who helped plan and who made it happen!! This competition pushed me to a different level of an athlete. I did not conquer my 14# wb to 10 foot target but I sure as heck worked on em:)! All my weights went up tremendously! I loved it! Great experience and loved getting to know all the athletes. Can’t wait for next year. I think…:)!
Ben, coaches, volunteers, judges – THANK YOU! I really appreciate all the hard work that everyone put in to make sure the competitors had a fantastic day. It was awesome to participate in such a top-notch event. Can’t wait for the next one!
I am so impressed by the accomplishments of my fellow athletes! Congrats to all!! And thanks, again, to all those that made this event happen!
There’s no place like “home”…I miss my CFNE friends soooooo much! The hugs and kisses were immeasureable! Like my dad used to say “don’t forget where you came from”!!!!
I did move another 20min further south, lol, but my heart will always be with you guys…..all of you make it worth the trip!
Thank you everyone for a really great day!
Thanks to Ben, mdv, ally, Mel, theentire cfne coaching staff and our amazing volunteers for putting on such a great event. Judy definitely summed it up perfectly about teaching an old dog new tricks – thanks to all of you for giving us the forum and opportunity to do this. Truly a special day.
