    Wish we were there to see the Open WOD efforts, but I kidnapped Ben yesterday for a quick birthday get-away :). Can’t wait to hit this one up tomorrow, though!

    At the hotel gym:
    400 meter run (treadmill)
    15 DB push-press (25#)

    I am, literally, so swollen that even my shoe laces barely fit anymore. I’m not just saying that, either. The bunny ears are about to shrink down to simple basic double knots. Not bunny ear double knots, just a plain old double knot.

      It’s hard to not when you are encouraging (read as screaming at us) to keep going. Notice how when you told me to grab the 35# plates so I was ready for the 210# snatch I didn’t question you, I went and grabbed the 35s. As always, thank you for the corrections, support and most importantly the encouragement.

    Open WOD 12.2: 41

    Today is a classic example of why I love CFNE and CrossFit. Came into the gym this morning knowing that I have never snatched anything over 125lbs. So, I am saying to myself “not sure I can get one of the 135s.” I was also in that dark place thinking back last month to when I hit those 185lb front squats and spent 5 minutes failing to clean it up. (I defeated myself mentally, telling myself I couldn’t do it.) I had a bad feeling trying to fend off the same thoughts today. During warm-ups, Ted, Dave and I all failed to do a single snatch at 135. Not a good sign going into the WOD. Then I watch both of them get to the 135 in the WOD and nail their first rep. Then watched them nail several more. Then I see Eugene do it. And I think to myself, if they can do it, I can do it. When I got to the WOD myself, I could hear all of them cheering, along with MDV…seemed like the whole class. Pr’d my snatch today and then did it another 10 times… All because my teammates and the little boost of confidence they gave me. Mental game won today. Thanks gang!

    today was just what I needed. I have been off track for what feels like forever…. Hitting a PR today made my day. My previous PR was 85#, so to do 100#…and 5 of them made me so excited.

      • Great fun with Bob R. We both looked at each other before the WOD and said let’s just get to 30 and then we’ll see what happens. Bob was hysterical he was getting better as time went on. He did 54, huge effort, there was much rejoicing afterwards.

    Pretty certain my max snatch before this was 95# because all I’ve ever done is work on the squat and form, so pretty happy with 12 at #135 :).

    Thanks for the stare-down Geoff L. Helped push through that first 135 failed attempt and get mad at it.

    I have NO idea why I didn’t have the 100# weights ready…but after the scramble to get the weights, I had two attempts and didn’t get it. I got the bar high enough, now need to work on getting under it! Wish I could give it another try but heading out of town. Go CFNE! So inspiring to watch you all!

    Finished up my first week at CFNE :-)

    Wasn’t sure what I was capable of for this workout, so I scaled a bit (though I wish I had given the rx a try in hindsight). 30 @ 40#, then 26 @ 55#.
