Team Throwdown
On November 14th, we determine...."The Fittest Gym in The North East"
The Event starts at 9:00am at CrossFit New England, 15 Tech Circle, Natick, MA. The event consists of three challenges (about 2 hours apart) testing Strength, Speed, Power, Stamina, Balance, Agility, Accuracy, Coordination, Flexibility, and Endurance.
The top 4 teams will then compete in a Final Event to determine the “FITTEST GYM IN THE NORTH EAST.”
Challenge 1: "Ground to Overhead"
Teams will have 10 minutes to establish a max lift for each athlete. You may take as many attempts as needed, and the weight may be lifted in any fashion. A successful lift will be counted if the athlete is able to lock out the weight overhead with feet under the hips, legs and arms at full extension.
There is a 10:00 minute cut-off.

Challenge 2: "Dead Pull"
75 Deadlifts, 150 Pull ups, 75 Deadlifts
One athlete works at a time. The men will each complete 25 deadlifts at 225 lbs. They will then strip a pair of 45 lbs plates off the bar and the female will complete 25 deadlifts at 135 lbs. Once the last deadlift is complete, the team completes 150 pull ups as a team. The pull ups can be broken up as needed, but only one athlete can work at a time.
Once the pull ups are completed, the team returns to the barbell and completes another 25 reps in reverse order.
There is a 12 minute cut-off

Challenge 3: "The MetCon"
AMRAP 25 of: 7 Burpees, 12 Box Jumps, 150 meter Run
This is a relay with two to three athletes working at a time. Once the first athlete finishes the box jumps and starts the run the second athlete can begin the triplet with the burpees. Once they leave for the run, the third athlete can begin with the burpees and so on. The team that completes the most rounds in 25 minutes wins.

Challenge 4: “The FINAL FOUR”
The top four teams will compete in the final event.
Row 1500, switching every 250
Then 3 rounds for time of: (“stadium style”)….
2 Rope Climbs
8 handstand push ups
12 front squats (155, 105)
16 kb swings (70, 53)….
Then team 800 meter run
Each team has one rower. Athletes must switch every 250 meters. Continue to 1500meters. Upon completion of the row, all three athletes will go to different stations (Rope, HSPU, FS or KBS), and will complete the prescribed reps for that movement. “Stadium style” means you can’t rotate exercises until every athlete has completed their reps for that exercise. After the team has completed 3 rounds of the “Stadium” portion of the wod, they must complete an 800 meter run as a team. The clock stops when the last athlete crosses the finish line.

Food:
There will be Heatherbars and some Paleo meals for sale, but if you have special food you like you should bring it. It could be a long day, and you might not have time to run out and grab something. We have water at the gym, but bring a water bottle.
Post Comp PARTY:
The real reason you are coming to CFNE.... We will have a BBQ after the competition. We should end early enough to have some fun. BYOB

Judging: The judges’ decisions are final. I have never experienced this at any CrossFit competition, but arguing, or generally pissy attitudes will not be tolerated.
Scaling: There is no scaling.
Scoring: Scoring will be based on a low points system. The first place Team in each workout will receive 1 pt. The second place finisher will receive 2 pts. The third place finisher will receive 3 pts and so on. The four teams with the lowest scores after the first three workouts will complete in the finals. If there is a tie, the winner will be determined by the team with the lowest time in the “DEAD PULL.” The Final Event will be TRIPLE POINTS (1st = 3 points, 2nd = 6 points = 3rd = 9 points, 4th = 12 points).
If there is a tie after the final wod, it will be broken by the best time for the “Final Four” WOD.
Cut-Off Times: If a team does not complete the challenge in the allotted time, they are still in the competition. They will be awarded a place based on how far they got relative to their competitors.

Can we form all girls teams for this? If we do, are the DLs scaled to 135 for each female?
Reply to this
Yes, you can compete with 1, 2 or 3 girls on a team and the deadlifts would all be at 135.

One of my athletes had a question. How will an all girls team be scored against 2 men and a woman on the max clean and jerk?
Reply to this
Great question. The strongest women on the team will receive the "women's score," and the second and third women's clean and jerk will be divided by .68.

So far we have...
CFNE Team 1: Derek, Johnny D and Ronda
CFNE Team 2: Harry, Ben and Heather
CF Boston: James Hobart, Stacey Kroon, and Patrick Cummings
CF Milford is entering 2 teams
CFUSA: 2-3 teams
CF Performance: 1-2 teams.

Are the pullups C2B for men and regular for the girls? That would make it more sporting.

Hybrid Athletics/Crossfit-Strongman is bringing a couple teams. Can't wait for this one!

Ben-
This is not fair. I vote that strongman Rob O. has to do the C&J's one-handed...

Oh my god those are some seriously stacked teams! Kendra and I will find a 3rd xfitter to make a team. Maybe Mikko Salo will fly in to help us, we'd need it!

Sorry for the late reply guys. We only have three women who could compete and a bunch of guys so we had to have a mini competition to decide who would go to Natick. But don't you worry CF CenterMass will be sending three teams.
